Alex Lowes Signs For The Project of The Kawasaki Racing Team’s 2025 Bimota
Following the unveiling of the Bimota project by the Kawasaki Racing Team for the 2025 season, current KRT rider Alex Lowes has committed to competing for the official team on the new motorcycle.
Currently riding for Kawasaki as an official rider in the WorldSBK, Lowes has already won two races at the season’s first round in Australia. On the eve of the fourth round of the championship, which takes place at the “Marco Simoncelli” circuit in Misano, he is ranked fourth.
As he enters his fifth year at KRT, Lowes will collaborate with numerous employees with whom he has developed a close working and personal relationship, adding a high level of continuity to the otherwise fresh project.
Lowes has even more cause for optimism regarding his future given the new project he is embarking on, particularly considering how much he has improved each year since joining the official KRT squad. Since Lowes is the team’s most seasoned rider this year, Alex has adapted to his new position as the senior contender in a really good and assured manner. His two victories in the 2024 race thus far have demonstrated how wise it was for him to put his faith in his group and the newest technology package.
Lowes is prepared to put in a lot of work to maintain the strong performance he and the Ninja ZX-10RR have shown through three rounds of the 12-round championship, even if the majority of the 2024 season is still ahead of him. There are nine rounds left in the 2024 campaign, including the upcoming round at Misano.
Alex Lowes, stated: “I believe this opportunity has come at the correct time. Along with Bimota, Kawasaki are putting huge effort into this new project. Utilising Kawasaki’s nearly 40 years of Superbike racing knowledge and success and also my personal experience with different manufacturers I believe this gives us the best chance to start from the best possible position with the new bike. I have shown that I am still improving and still fast and competitive at the front of WorldSBK. A big thank you to KMC, Bimota and Provec Racing for the faith shown in me. I’m happy to continue to be part of our racing family! I’m enjoying my racing a lot and we still have a lot to focus on during 2024. We had a nice start to the season with a couple of race victories but now our focus is on Misano. It’s a track I really enjoy, we had a test here recently and I felt strong on the bike let’s work hard focus and see what results we can take this weekend. Arigato, Grazie Mille, Muchas Gracias and Thank you!”
Shigemi Tanaka, General Manager, Marketing & Sales Division, Kawasaki Motors, Ltd., who was present at the Misano round of the WorldSBK, said: “We are thrilled to have Alex Lowes join the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team on behalf of Kawasaki and Bimota. In addition to his vast expertise and racecraft, he has a good working relationship with many of the personnel on this intriguing new racing project. Now that things are moving along smoothly for the remainder of 2024, Alex can focus on achieving even more success while getting ready for the new squad.
According to KRT Team Manager Guim Roda, “We are on a great journey with Alex.” We began in Covid times, during a season that was challenging for him to find his racing rhythm. He experienced a number of injuries in ’21 and ’22, which prevented him from reaching his full ability. But even in those years, he shown his speed and other abilities. It’s time to step up your consistency now. Recently, regulatory restrictions have prevented us from realizing the full potential of our ZX-10RR; nevertheless, this season, we were able to improve a few parts of the bike, which has undoubtedly benefited Alex. He has a highly positive outlook on life and has developed into a strong Kawasaki representative.
We want to maintain our current structure for the upcoming season, and we need to use all of our resources to meet the problems that the BbKRT project presents. We are so overjoyed that Alex decided to stick with us in spite of receiving alternative offers. Now that the 2024 season is almost over, we can all concentrate on finishing it and beginning to create even more history in 2025.
