Alphonso Davies‘s contract fight is intensifying as Bayern Munich attempts to lock him down and Real Madrid hopes to sign him for free or at a reduced cost this summer. Davies must make the crucial choice on whether or not to sign a new contract with Bayern.
The 23-year-old left-back reduced his demands from €20 million per season to €17 million annually in order to remain with the team. There were rumors this week that Bayern had nearly matched that amount, using bonuses. However, Real Madrid is growing more optimistic that they can lure Davies to the capital of Spain.
How precisely that got about has been detailed by Christian Falk to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing. While in Munich for contract negotiations, Nedal Househ, the agent of Davies, reached an agreement on conditions for a new contract with Max Eberl, the Sporting Director of Bayern Munich. Huoseh left the city without an agreement in place, though, because the Bayern hierarchy was displeased with the terms and thought they were too pricey.
Bayern looks to be rethinking their offer and is expected to make another one in the near future. The Bavarian powerhouses will have to begin talks with Los Blancos this summer in order to come to an agreement if they are unable to reach an agreement. The most recent is that Bayern is want €50 million, and Real Madrid will not pay more than €30 million for Davies this summer.
