Man Utd’s attempt to acquire Jarrad Branthwaite has failed.
Two players might be included by Manchester United in a trade to wrest Jarrad Branthwaite away from Everton.
When it comes to the defender’s future, the Toffees are adopting a firm position. Despite losing eight points for breaking financial regulations, Branthwaite had an incredible 2023–24 season at Everton, making 41 appearances and netting three goals as Sean Dyche’s team comfortably escaped relegation in the Premier League.
The high demand for Branthwaite is not surprising. The 21-year-old is also being sought after by United, who want to strengthen their defensive options after placing just eighth in the previous campaign. The Blues, however, have rejected a bid of about £35 million because they believe Branthwaite is worth at least twice that amount.
However, talkSPORT said this morning that Erik ten Hag’s team might need to employ two makeweights in a possible deal. Diogo Dalot is the starting right-back at Old Trafford, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka seemingly surplus to needs. Wan-Bissake has been connected to a move to Galatasaray, the Turkish powerhouse.
Meanwhile, Everton boss Dyche is rumored to have admired Victor Lindelof as a player “for a while.”
