Jaden Philogene of Hull City seems to be a fresh name that Barcelona is keeping an eye on as they search the market for a new winger.
Barcelona is considering a move for the 22-year-old English winger, as reported by Alberto Martinez (via Toni Juanmarti). Signing negotiations have already begun.
Who is Jaden Philogene?
The 22-year-old Jadon Philogene attended the Aston Villa youth program, where he later made six professional appearances and assisted two goals.
The Englishman made an excellent impression during his two loan stints at Stoke City and Cardiff City before completing a €5 million permanent move to Hull City last year, with Villa holding a buyback option.
After joining the Championship team, Philogene had a fantastic season, netting 12 goals and dishing out six assists in 33 games. Additionally, he has made four appearances and scored three goals for England’s Under-21 team.
Philogene, a right-footed player, excelled when he played on the left side because of his strong dribbling skills and eye for goal, which appears to have attracted Barcelona’s attention.

According to the previously cited source, Barcelona and Hull City have already discussed the possibility of signing Philogene, whose contract expires in 2026.
Despite Nico Williams being the first target, Barça views the 22-year-old English player as a backup should the Spanish international fail to materialize.
The plan is to sign Philogene to a loan agreement with a buyout clause. This would help the Catalans in terms of fair play and enable them to thoroughly evaluate the player before bringing him in long-term.
