Even though Raheem Sterling hasn’t yet made his Arsenal debut, one former player who played for both of the capital clubs claims that he has already vanquished the demons that plagued him during his time at Chelsea.
Exiled from the Chelsea team by new boss Enzo Maresca, Sterling signed a surprise deadline-day contract to join the north London team last month.
The winger signed a contract to join the Blues for £50 million, leaving Manchester City, and that was just two years ago.
Yet one former Gunner thinks Sterling is already looking the part as he gets ready for his first Arsenal appearance this Saturday.
William Gallas stated to Prime Casino, “I believe Raheem Sterling can benefit greatly from this.” It appears like Sterling is incredibly happy to have joined Arsenal, and it will be a wise addition to the team.
“I’ve seen photos of him in training, and he appears content. He appears at ease. Although his body language appears nice, it wasn’t the case at Chelsea.
“I don’t know if this is true, but I look at him, I hear the things he’s said about Arsenal since he joined, maybe he always wanted to play for the club. He’s a London kid, maybe this is the shirt that he’s always wanted.”
“It was fair,” he remarked, “to say it wouldn’t be a loss if he left Chelsea.” He didn’t demonstrate his skills at the football team. It’s easy. He has an opportunity to show people what he’s all about as a player, and possibly working with a management that knows him, will help him achieve that.
“He adds to Arsenal’s abundance of wingers, which they already have.” They needed a striker, and they didn’t get one. If Sterling can score, it will be great news for the team and Mikel Arteta. I feel like he might accomplish that while he’s an Arsenal player.
It occurs before the North London Derby this coming weekend, in which Sterling is anticipated to play a role.
Additionally, there are rumours that Sterling might be used right away given Arsenal’s present injury woes – a development that will undoubtedly scare the Tottenham Hotspur defence.
What better way to celebrate Sterling’s arrival at Arsenal than by playing against their bitterest rivals? A man driven by a sense of purpose is a dangerous one.
