Real Madrid has been advised to sign Erling Haaland from Manchester City, as the Etihad club is now embroiled in a legal battle over suspected financial irregularities.
An ex-star at the Bernabeu has persuaded Erling Haaland to move from Manchester City to Real Madrid.
As of today, the third day of the hearing, the champions are considering 115 claims of improper financial conduct from 2009 to 2018. Although City has vehemently rejected these accusations, a guilty verdict might result in serious penalties, including lost points, fines, and possibly even banishment from the Premier League.
With four straight victories to start the new season, City’s performance has not been impacted by the turmoil off the pitch as they currently lead the league. Haaland has scored nine goals this season, and his brilliant play has been a big factor in City’s success.
Despite being bound to Etihad until 2027, Real Madrid is still showing interest in the Norwegian phenomenon. Club legend Guti has openly expressed his desire for Madrid to sign the striker. In a Monday speech, Guti declared, “I would bring Real Madrid’s Haaland.”
“I just hope Florentino [Perez] makes him his next target because he’s been excellent for a few years. It would benefit our football team greatly.”
This is not the first time Guti has stated openly that he needs Haaland to wear a Madrid jersey; in May 2022, he made similar remarks before the Norwegian departed from Dortmund for Manchester.
“Vinicius, Benzema, Haaland, and Mbappe can play together,” stated Guti at the time. It’s a quality jump to have both Mbappe and Haaland at Real Madrid. Doubt is not warranted. Real Madrid needs to put forth every effort to sign Mbappe and Haaland. They will never sign Haaland if they don’t do so now.”
Two years later, Haaland is still wreaking havoc on Manchester, while Mbappe has left PSG to grace the Bernabeu for free. Even though the Norwegian goal machine’s current contract with City doesn’t expire for another three years, he continues to be evasive regarding his long-term future.
In May, Haaland stated: “I have to say that I’m incredibly happy, especially with the people that I’m surrounded by—the board, the directors, and the manager are a group of fantastic individuals.
It’s likely going to make a big headline tomorrow if I say this now; you never know what the future holds. However, I’m content. You have to write what I’ve stated so far, in addition to this! I’m content.
