Chelsea will resume play tomorrow night, and viewing is now required by appointment. The legendary performer Cole Palmer will take the pitch to delight us in a fresh way.
That won’t be the case tomorrow, though, as our Thursday night schedule never includes it. Palmer is aware that he will remain in England while the rest of the team departs for Greece today to prepare for their match against Panathinaikos, as he is not a member of our Conference League team.
He spearheaded Chelsea’s push to qualify for Europe last season, so it must be a little strange for him not to be able to participate anymore. He gave a brief explanation of the reasoning for it and its nature on the club’s official website:
The Wythenshawe Wizard clarified, “Enzo explained that it was because it was only my first full season in football last year, and he wants me to be fresh this season; I get more rest.”
“It’s different, but when you watch, you can absorb a little more of the game. You wish you were playing occasionally, of course, but I like seeing it all!
Cole Palmer’s entertainment factor is lost on fans, but there are other options available.
It’s difficult to watch any team that has left Palmer sitting in the stands without feeling a bit short-changed, but we both understand why he’s being rested and wouldn’t change that.
However, he will play against Newcastle this weekend, and tomorrow night we will witness other players take their chances. Mykhailo Mudryk, for example, will be eager for an opportunity to prove his abilities. That’s the exact purpose of these games.
