This season, Crystal Palace is on the verge of a catastrophe at Selhurst Park after eight games without a victory.
Even in the worst-case scenario, Oliver Glasner would never have predicted that he would be in 18th place and without a win after eight games before the season began.
Glasner’s future as manager of Crystal Palace was questioned after the team’s 1-0 loss to Forest on Monday night added to these difficulties.
Graham Potter, a manager Steve Parish appears to respect, has already been linked to the Eagles this week.
David Moyes is another potential candidate to take over as manager; he is eager to succeed Glasner if given the opportunity.
However, it has now been stated that the Eagles will be worried about losing more than simply Glasner.
Marc Guehi’s explanations to friends on the January transfer window
Another significant change may occur at Selhurst Park in 2025 since some players are probably thinking about leaving, and if things don’t get better, they’re even more likely to do so.
Marc Guehi, however, appears to be the most accurate of all the players who might go, and he has recently been discussing his possible departure with pals.
An article from Football Insider claims that Guehi is eager to leave Selhurst Park and sign with a prestigious team like Liverpool.
Guehi is holding out for a top-four move and thinks he can aim higher than Newcastle, even if they are pursuing him relentlessly in the summer.
As the Reds have long sought Guehi as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, the Eagles No. 6 has also reportedly informed his buddies that a move to Liverpool would be of great interest.
This follows Crystal Palace sources’ acceptance that Guehi will depart during the next two transfer windows.
Regardless of the manager at the time, losing Guehi would not be catastrophic for the Eagles although he is an “immense” defender.
Guehi is an important member of Crystal Palace’s team. We don’t have any illusions about this, but given how much money he could make, it would be obvious to sell. Maxence Lacroix’s remarkable performance since his arrival strengthens the argument.
Stat per 90 | Guehi | Lacroix |
Games | 8 | 5 |
Passing accuracy % | 85.39 % | 80.69 % |
Long pass accuracy | 56.82 % | 59.52 % |
Duels won | 5.3 | 5 |
Clearances | 6 | 4.4 |
Interceptions | 0.8 | 1.6 |
Blocked shots | 1.2 | 0.7 |
Despite all of the Eagles’ difficulties, Lacroix has adapted quite well, and we would like him to keep getting better as Crystal Palace, hopefully, finds some form.
The best defender would depart if Guehi were sold, but there is no need to worry because other positions could be reinforced and he could be replaced.
