According to reports, Manchester United has approved Antony, a Brazilian winger, to go on loan during the forthcoming January transfer window.
Despite previously excelling in the Eredivisie under Erik ten Hag, Antony has been a massive disappointment for Manchester United since signing from Ajax a little over two years ago.
This is undoubtedly the smartest course of action for all parties involved, as it appears that Goal Brasil fully expects Antony to be free to move on this winter if any bids are made for him.
Since they believe they have better choices in that area of the pitch currently, United appears to no longer need Antony.
Even if the 24-year-old was eager to defend his spot at Old Trafford, he could be better off accepting that his tenure there has been a failure and moving on to a new challenge.
Where will Antony, the winger for Manchester United, go next?
Although it’s unclear who could be prepared to risk everything on Antony, it’s possible that MUFC will have trouble finding teams who are interested in such a struggling player.
However, there is a potential that Antony could turn his career around because he once looked like a true prospect. However, it appears that he has not heeded Ten Hag’s advice earlier in the season.
He lacks patience. Back in September, BBC Sport quoted Ten Hag as saying, “He wants to play.”
But there are rules in professional football. You choose the squad with the best chemistry, the best dynamic, and the highest probability of winning the game. Players must battle for their spots.
“The other players are contributing and doing incredibly well. He must move past them. In training, he must earn the privilege.
“Players will be granted the opportunity to play if they perform well during training, have a positive attitude, and do the right thing.”
Ten Hag doesn’t think Antony deserved his opportunity at United, and it’s gone now.
