Prior to the travel to play Barcelona in the Europa League, Anthony Martial and Antony both skipped the first team practice for Manchester United on Wednesday morning. On Thursday night, United will return to action when they travel to Nou Camp. They will be hoping to get a win before the second leg of the match takes place the following week.
With Scott McTominay also missing the training session, it appears that they will still be without a number of important players for the game.
Also absent from the open portion of United training was Marcel Sabitzer. Despite being suspended for the first leg of the match, Lisandro Martnez nevertheless trained.
Due to the continuous midfield shortage, academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal are also vying for playing time. Casemiro appears set to start the game with Fred in the starting lineup.
Marcus Rashford or Wout Weghost are the most likely candidates to start in Martial’s place as the line leader, however, Jadon Sancho may potentially get the nod in Antony’s absence.
In his pre-game press conference on Wednesday night, Erik ten Hag is sure to provide further team news updates.
