Christian Eriksen, a midfielder for Manchester United, has updated his supporters on his progress in recovering from an ankle injury.
When United defeated Reading at Old Trafford last month in the FA Cup fourth round, Eriksen, 31, suffered an injury.
Eriksen will be out “for a long period,” according to United, and the midfielder is most likely out until the end of April or the beginning of May.
Eriksen has been an important member of Erik ten Hag’s team since signing on a free transfer in the summer, so his loss is a huge setback for United.
Before becoming injured, the Danish international had made 31 appearances for United across all competitions. As a result, United signed Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich on the final day of the January transfer window.
Eriksen updates his followers with good news.
The second leg of United’s Europa League play-off match will be played against La Liga’s top team, Barcelona, on Thursday at the Nou Camp.
As he works his way back to full fitness, Eriksen provided Red Devils supporters with a heartwarming update prior to the game.
Tuesday, the club’s official Twitter account wished Eriksen a happy birthday, and he responded with the following message: “Thank you.
The strong-arm emoji was accompanied by the words “I’ll be back before you know it.”
United manager Ten Hag stated that it would be challenging to replace Eriksen before Sabitzer was signed on loan.
Because each athlete has unique qualities and identities, I don’t think you can ever fill that (gap), Ten Hag stated.
“A different player will always step in to fill the void, but that doesn’t mean you have to perform any less well.
It is obvious that Christian Eriksen contributes to our team’s success, and he possesses some unique qualities that are difficult to replace, such as his final-ball effects in the final third.
