Mason Mount and Kai Havertz of Chelsea FC have been the subject of rumours for weeks now, according to reports.
The majority of analysts swiftly dismissed the Mount rumours given his background (English) and position (attacking midfield). It is known that the Bavarians had been interested in Havertz in the past.
Despite the fact that his primary position (attacking midfield) is not necessarily one of need, Havertz can also play as a striker and a wing, so his versatility may be appealing to a manager like Tuchel (who, by the way, enjoyed working with Havertz in London).
Then again, how true were the rumours? As seen by @iMiaSanMia and reported by Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl of Sport Bild, it was in fact a case of “where there is smoke, there is fire”:
Within Bayern, the names of Kai Havertz and Mason Mount were mentioned, but the team has not yet taken any official action.
Although the club is said to have no plans to pursue either player seriously at the moment, Bayern Munich has been known to pull a surprise during the summer transfer window. The club will they repeat it?
