In the midst of ongoing rumors over his future, the French forward conducted an exclusive interview with the Bundesliga website (via Bild).
Thuram said: “For me personally, the past four years have been fantastic.” Thuram spent four years with Borussia Monchengladbach. I started playing here when I was a young player, and I’ve grown a lot. It was incredible to fight with Borussia in the Champions League and to earn a spot on the national team by putting up strong performances.
I am really grateful to this club, and I will always remember what they have done for me. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for Borussia.
Since Thuram’s current contract expires this summer, there is ambiguity regarding his future, as the France international will be a free agent.
Since being called up to the France team for the 2022 World Cup, Thuram has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but it is also said that other European clubs, including AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, are showing an interest in him.
Thuram is presently tied with Christopher Nkunku and Serge Gnabry for fourth place among Bundesliga top scorers with 13 goals this season (per BBC Sport). In the league, he has also recorded five assists.
