In light of how well he and Antony are working together, Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka thinks “there is a lot more to come.”
Wan-Bissaka and Antony’s communication has improved recently as evidenced by the recent propensity of United to launch their attacks from the right side.
On MUTV, the defender was questioned about it, and he responded: “You know, the collaboration is expanding, and there’s a lot more to come from it now.
“Having to balance it both up the pitch and in the back is part of the game,” the player said.
He urged his teammates to end the season strongly with just two games left in the Premier League.
We still have two games left, and that is how we want to finish, he continued.
“With two games left, we need to finish strong and earn the three points.
“We must approach each game cautiously, and after today, my confidence has increased. We are confident in the group and intend to succeed once more on Thursday.
Antony and Aaron Wan-Bissaka work nicely together.
Erik ten Hag is now seeing why the club spent £50 million to sign Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in 2019.
It appeared as though he had no future under Erik ten Hag after only four minutes of action prior to the winter break.
He has subsequently fought for a spot on the team, keeping Diogo Dalot on the sidelines.
In recent years, the Red Devils have placed a lot of emphasis on their left flank to generate attacking possibilities.
Although they have played as the right winger, Juan Mata, Daniel James, and Jesse Lingard haven’t offered the same attacking threat as Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial did on the left side.
The final candidate for the right wing, even though his natural position was in the middle, was Mason Greenwood.
In that position, Antony has been a breath of fresh air, showing off his lightning-quick footwork and not being afraid to challenge the defenders.
Wan-Bissaka is an outstanding defender, and having him behind Antony enables the Brazilian to maintain a higher position to help potential counterattacks.
The former Crystal Palace defender did enough to earn a spot at Old Trafford for the upcoming year.
If he can maintain their growing rapport down the right wing, United will benefit.
