Goncalo Ramos, a striker for Benfica, has all the qualities necessary to thrive in the Premier League, according to Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes.
One of the top young strikers in European football, the 21-year-old is a striker. With 27 goals and 12 assists in just 47 games, he has had a spectacular season.
Speaking to Sport TV (via A Bola) on his interest in joining United, Fernandes highlighted that his compatriot is prepared for the Premier League.
He was very intense,’ ‘presses well,’ and has a good aerial presence, according to the former Sporting star. Ramos has the potential to be “one of the best” strikers in the world, he continued.
“Gonçalo has all the requirements to play in the Premier League,” he remarked, adding that he is very intense, presses very effectively, and is very good in the area. Not only did the selection surprise me, but also my coworkers.
Physically, he is strong, he is still young, and he will improve. I believe he can be one of the top strikers in the world if he keeps up his current effort rate, but he must join a more competitive league to accomplish so.
Fernandes continued, “He has all the attributes to play in the English top division, and if I were the sporting director of Manchester United, I would personally sign him.”
And whether it’s Gonçalo or another player, the best players are always helpful in this situation. When I hear the Premier League, I also think of Manchester United because I believe he possesses all the necessary skills to play there.
“I believe that he will make a fantastic reference in the years to come, but I am not yet sporting director. I shall decide these matters when I am.
Ramos would make the ideal striker acquisition.
This season, the 21-year-old has been a revelation for Benfica, contributing to 39 goals in all competitions.
He performed admirably for Portugal during the World Cup. In the round of 16, the striker unexpectedly started the match against Switzerland. In the 6-1 victory, he distinguished himself with an excellent hat trick and an assist.
Since his overall qualities would fit United’s playing style, his reputation has been growing gradually, and manager Erik Ten Hag would do well to sign him.
Ramos has dazzled with his movement and versatility in addition to his goal-contributing performances. He works hard and doesn’t hesitate to take on defenders in contact.
His hold-up strategy is another plus. He already possesses all the skills necessary to become a striker of the highest caliber at such a young age. That is what Fernandes will be aiming for at United.
