A contract that was valid until June 2024 still has 12 months left for the Belgian international.
Real Madrid has chosen to dump their No. 7 early, though, following a nightmare of injuries in Spain.
Check out what Eden Hazard has previously stated about coming back to Stamford Bridge now that Chelsea supporters are talking about his possible homecoming.
What Eden Hazard has stated regarding the return of Chelsea
In December 2019, just months after concluding his £89 million transfer to Real Madrid in June 2019, the Belgian appeared open to returning to Chelsea when speaking to a supporter.
Hazard told Frank Khalid: “I do my job here (Real Madrid) and then come back.”
Was great meeting @ChelseaFC legend @hazardeden10 again. He still loves Chelsea & made a promise that he will come back. Just a shame it’s not now. He’s been so impressed by our academy boys & still follows us. #CFC #OnceABlueAlwaysABlue 💙 pic.twitter.com/88cj6K2N1H

Unfortunately, the legendary Chelsea player’s numerous injury issues prevented him from performing his duties at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Hazard has only been able to make 76 appearances since joining Real Madrid in June 2019 due to fitness difficulties, missing a total of 78 games for Real Madrid.
The player who makes £384,000 a week only managed to score seven goals and hand out 12 assists in those games.
Hazard’s time at Real Madrid was a nightmare, but given the legacy he left at Stamford Bridge, at least in our opinion, he would be welcome back at Chelsea any day of the week.
Given his injury issues, it is debatable whether it would be sensible to re-sign him, but in terms of public opinion, there would be no backlash if the Blues did reach out and extend a lifeline to the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2014–15 season.
Our opinion is that Hazard at Chelsea may benefit from a coaching rule to help players like Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk develop, however, it is perhaps too early for that because he is only 32.
