Ilkay Gundogan is providing food and beverages for a Manchester charity to help launch one party on Saturday night.
The Manchester City captain is an ambassador for Community Integrated Care after volunteering there on two of his birthdays and has consistently given to charitable causes while at the Etihad. The German star will give 115 people at the social care project Turkish food and drink to help them enjoy the Champions League final, along with a message thanking them for inspiring him.
Part of the message reads, “I wanted to send you this letter to let you know that you are a great inspiration for me. “Your fortitude, tenacity, and zest for life are incredibly inspirational. You have tremendous fortitude to tackle the obstacles you do, and you have a wonderful capacity to conquer them.
“I recognize that challenges and difficulties are a part of life, but please know that you are not alone. The connections you have made at Community Integrated Care, the jokes you tell, and the help you provide one another show how strong and beautiful our community and the human spirit truly are.
At the young club where he first booted a ball, Gundogan also provides food and beverages. Heßler 06 Gelsenkirchen has watched his career attentively, and they will be together to see the game and support the midfielder.
The team from City will be hoping that this is not the last time Gundogan leads them out. The 32-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the month, and although he has received offers to depart, the Blues have increased their attempts to keep him.
