According to commentator Craig Burley, Jack Grealish talks as though he considers himself fortunate to play for Manchester City.
The 27-year-old recently finished his second campaign with Pep Guardiola’s squad by assisting them in claiming the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League titles.
One pundit has called attention to one off-field accomplishment the winger has made while taking part in the team’s recent celebrations.
Burley praises Grealish’s disposition
Burley recently made this comment on Grealish and his demeanor in a video posted on the ESPN FC YouTube channel.
“One thing I like about these players, but especially Jack Grealish, is that after such a pressure-filled first season where it was a bit of a struggle, it was much better this year, excellent season, not a great final, but excellent season. When we’ve listened to him in interviews, there’s none of this PR gobbledegook, ‘I need to say this, I need to say that, I need to watch my words,’ he just comes out and he speaks
“I almost get the impression that he feels blessed to have gotten that move from his boyhood club Aston Villa, whom he adored playing for, to be playing with these superstars, working for this superstar boss, and winning the top-tier championship.]
“I just feel like he can’t believe he’s in this situation and he just appreciates it,” the coach said. “I’m sure it’s the same for all the players.”
The winger claimed that after the Champions League final’s final whistle, he went over to Guardiola and thanked him for providing him the chance to consistently prove himself in the team this season.
This supports Burley’s assertion that Grealish is considerate of those around him and demonstrates his sincerity and selflessness.
The fact that he contributed to more goals (3 vs. 5) and assists (3 vs. 7) in his most recent Premier League campaign than in his first season shows how much he’s improved as a valuable goal contributor.
With that in mind, as well as the compliments Burley gave him on how much he values his position at City, Grealish will be recognized as one of the biggest success stories at the Manchester club under Guardiola if he can keep growing on the pitch.
