Current news on Arsenal’s pursuit of Chelsea striker Kai Havertz is interesting to read in the German media.
According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, depending on Arsenal’s final offer, the 24-year-old is now “very close” to joining the club.
The player is reportedly eager to move from Chelsea to Arsenal, and the personal terms are ‘nearly agreed’.
The talks between the Blues and the Gunners are reportedly too far along for Bayern Munich to intervene, despite their alleged “enquiry” about the terms.
According to Plettenberg, Havertz was “in depth” studied by Arsenal, and Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta believe he is the “ideal player” to help the team’s assault this summer.
Even though it’s unclear how much the Gunners would pay up front, the overall package is said to be worth €80m “all in” as the negotiations near their conclusion.
According to reports, Havertz is ‘convinced about the project’ and that Arsenal wants him as a ‘versatile attacker’ to partner with Gabriel Jesus.
So even if recent German sources suggested Bayern Munich might pose a threat, it appears now that they would have little chance of defeating Arsenal.
