If the Ajax sensation Jurri Timber had to choose between Arsenal and teams like Bayern Munich this summer, he should sign with them.
Urby Emanuelson, a former Ajax midfielder, thinks the teenager would make the right decision by moving to the Emirates.
According to reports, Arsenal has made an opening offer to Ajax in an effort to outbid the competition for Timber this week.
It was originally revealed in England that they were interested, and then shortly after, it was revealed in the Netherlands that Timber already had a deal in place with Arsenal as a result of his trip to London with his agent.
Since then, Bayern Munich has been credited with showing interest in the defender and with considering competing with Arsenal for his services.
Though Emanuelson thinks the Gunners would be a wiser choice for his career, Timber should reject that offer if it comes in.
“Timber has had some successful years. He may have played a little less last season, but in my opinion, he is a really fantastic talent, the player said on the #DoneDeal podcast from Voetbal Primeur.
“I am aware that the Timber family is excellent at arranging the brothers’ professional lives. I believe Jur is prepared for the step, on the one hand. On the other hand, it’s hard for me to give him advice if you had a poorer season at Ajax.
“I’d go for Arsenal. Why? There, young players are treated quite nicely. If you observe their interactions with Martinelli, Odegaard, and Saka… They are all guys that can make blunders and still be considered essential.
“He has the capacity to rise to the very top. Arsenal would be a wise move for that reason. Arsenal will continue to expand on its growth.
