11 players are reportedly on the verge of leaving Chelsea as part of their brutal senior clear-out at Stamford Bridge, according to sources who spoke to Football Insider.
In light of Financial Fair Play issues, the Blues must sell players in order to maintain their extravagant transfer spending under owner Todd Boehly.
Chelsea reportedly spent more over £530 million on new players in the 2022–23 season, which has led to an overcrowded roster.
Following the transfer window’s opening last week, Football Insider announced on Wednesday (21 June) that Kai Havertz is slated to make his first exit.
Havertz said his friends at Chelsea farewell before departing for Arsenal in a £65 million transfer.
Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, and Hakim Ziyech are all anticipated to depart the Blues for Saudi Pro League clubs.
Koulibaly, 32, only joined Chelsea last summer (2022) for a rumored £33 million deal, but he had a difficult first season in the Premier League.
Kante, who is also 32, is ready to send a trophy-laden affiliation with the Londoners when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of this month.
The futures of Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, and Christian Pulisic are also being discussed.
Mount has informed Chelsea that he wants to move to Man United after reaching a personal agreement, according to a report from Football Insider published on June 4; however, the Red Devils have not yet made an acceptable offer.
Also according to sources, Chalobah, 23, will be joining Inter Milan this summer, according to Football Insider (5 June).
This player exodus is thought to provide Chelsea the opportunity to move through with deals for their top transfer targets, such as Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The Blues are in talks with a number of potential midfield targets, including Southampton star Romeo Lavia and Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga, according to a report from Football Insider on Tuesday (20 June).
