Liverpool Must Pay Full Price for Top Target, Defying Man Utd Pressure and Mount Rejection
Ryan Gravenberch is wanted by Bayern Munich, and according to rumors, Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to pay the asking price to get the midfielder.
Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton has already been signed by the Reds, and manager Jurgen Klopp hopes to sign two or three more midfielders this summer after losing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner to free agency.
Liverpool is moving on to other objectives now that it has acquired Mac Allister for a bargain price of £35 million, with Dutch international Gravenberch being strongly linked to a move to Anfield.
The Reds are reportedly’more advanced’ than Manchester United in the hunt to sign Gravenberch from Bayern Munich, with Klopp reportedly given the ‘the light’ to pursue a transfer.
According to the Spanish newspaper Fichajes, Liverpool and Gravenberch are “about to close the €25 million transfer,” and the player is “open” to moving to Anfield.
However, Nacional insist that now that Klopp is disinterested in Barcelona and Real Madrid, he “orders” Liverpool to “pay the €25m requested by Bayern Munich.”
Klopp is ‘totally liked’ by Gravenberch despite the fact that he ‘went through a true nightmare in his first year in Germany’. Gravenberch joined Bayern from Ajax last summer and only started three Bundesliga games for Bayern throughout the past season.
Bayern are “willing to transfer him” for €25 million if the 21-year-old “does not want to continue in the Bundesliga for one more day.”
Klopp ‘intends to take advantage’ of Gravenberch’s circumstance at Bayern, and the Liverpool manager is ‘convinced that he would fit well’ into his’scheme’ at Anfield.
The ‘leadership role’ in Klopp’s team that he so desperately wants can be ‘guaranteed’ by Liverpool, who ‘can pay what it would cost without any hardship’.
However, Man Utd might still interfere with their efforts to recruit Gravenberch after their third offer for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was turned down.
Although Mount only has one year left on his contract and the Red Devils made a bid of £55 million for him, the Blues are apparently holding out for £65 million.
Additionally, there are rumours that Man Utd may opt to abandon their efforts to sign Mount now that Gravenberch has emerged as a possible replacement player.
According to GiveMeSport, the Red Devils “have become very aware” of the uncertain future of Gravenberch at Bayern, and “Erik Ten Hag’s connection to Ajax plays into this interest.”
