If Andre Onana departs Inter Milan, it is said that Manchester United is willing to treble his present pay.
With incumbent No. 1 David de Gea’s contract set to expire at the end of the week, the Reds appear to be at a crossroads.
Onana from Inter Milan, whom Erik ten Hag had at Ajax, is considered United’s top candidate to succeed De Gea as their starting custodian.
Onana now earns €3 million each season, and United would be willing to pay him more than double that sum if he switched from the San Siro to Old Trafford, according to La Gazetta dello Sport.
Although United must secure a deal with Inter Milan, it shouldn’t be tough to convince Onana to sign with the Reds.
According to the article, Inter are seeking between €50 million and £60 million for Onana, and United are reportedly eager to learn whether De Gea will go to Saudi Arabia.
United is in the process of selling Dean Henderson but has not yet made a bid for Onana.
United should recover more than half of the money spent on Onana if Nottingham Forest sign Henderson.
