The ‘white smoke’ in the transfer talks for Jurrien Timber between Arsenal and Ajax is now being reported by the Dutch media.
De Teelegraf now reports there is a deal for the 22-year-old’s move to London, following earlier claims of advanced negotiations.
According to reports, Arsenal would initially pay Ajax a fee of €42 million; this sum might increase to €47 million based on performance bonuses.
The player apparently negotiated a personal deal with Arsenal on Sunday, and this verbal agreement between the clubs was supposedly made on Thursday afternoon.
Only medicals, according to De Teelegraf,’stand in the way’ of Arsenal making its official statement.
The exams and his presentation are scheduled to occur in the “coming days.”
After finishing his development in the Amsterdam team, Timber joined Ajax in 2014 and departed Feyenoord’s academy.
Despite being young, he made 121 games for the Eredivisie giants, and it was the last two seasons that caught the attention of Premier League teams. He has also played 15 times for the Netherlands and started at the most recent World Cup.
