Manchester City’s Coup: World Cup Talent Agrees to Etihad Move
Josko Gvardiol, a standout player for RB Leipzig, is “on the verge of leaving” and has “reached an agreement” with Manchester City.
The Croatian international is expected to be the German club’s newest significant exit this summer, according to BILD.
After Liverpool activated Dominik Szoboszlai’s €70 million release clause and he left for Merseyside, they discuss the issue at Leipzig, where they appear to be losing him.
He will follow Konrad Laimer and Christopher Nkunku as the third important player to depart Leipzig this summer, and according to BILD, Gvardiol is also “on the verge” of leaving.
This is due to the defender’s ‘having signed a deal’ to join Manchester City. The defender rose to prominence last season and shone at the World Cup in Qatar.
In addition, Leipzig are ‘ready to negotiate’ a deal for him if they can get at least €100 million; Manchester City has previously indicated that they are willing to spend this amount for the appropriate player.
It is unclear if they will do so for Gvardiol, but BILD is optimistic that a deal will eventually be reached given that the player already has an agreement in place on the terms of his own contract at the Etihad.
