Paul Merson, a former midfielder for both Arsenal and Aston Villa, has earned a bad reputation as a TV pundit for having trouble pronouncing players’ names, sometimes even the most basic ones, but Dominik Szoboszlai is going to put him to the ultimate test next season.
The Sky Sports analyst deserves praise for seeing the humor in the situation and responding on Twitter with the meme “Me doing Liverpool games next season” and the captain.
Perhaps it would be preferable for Merson to refer to the 22-year-old as Dominik or to hope that he has an easier-to-pronounce moniker or that the Liverpool supporters come up with one for him.

But you can bet your bottom dollar that Merson will be requested to cover Liverpool’s game for Sky when football resumes in August.
In either case, Szoboszlai will likely play a key role in Liverpool’s rebuilding process after they were denied a spot in the Champions League last season.
In the Klopp era, Szoboszlai
The previous time Liverpool contacted RB Leipzig about a midfielder, things didn’t go as Klopp and the rest of the team had hoped.
Szoboszlai, though, will be hoping he avoids finding himself in a circumstance where he leaves Anfield on a free transfer and joins Weder Bremen.
That’s the scenario Naby Keita finds himself in, who just didn’t live up to expectations on Merseyside, but his problem was that he didn’t hit the ground running, which is something Szoboszlai has to do.
If the attack-minded midfielder makes his mark early, then life will be a lot easier for him as he tries to settle into life in England.
