As Liverpool is apparently interested in buying Federico Chiesa, Juventus is supposedly willing to let the Italian international leave this summer.
The 25-year-old, who Juventus has valued at €60 million (£51 million), is reportedly willing to transfer to Anfield, but Liverpool already have to contend with Newcastle United for his signature in the Premier League.
A handful of Juventus’ most prized assets are now available this transfer season as the Serie A giants seek to balance their books this summer and raise their financial image. Chiesa is anticipated to be one player who will help the Old Lady regain a respectable transfer fee.
And now, Chiesa is open to moving to Liverpool after it was recently revealed by Gazzetta dello Sport that Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the Italian attacker. However, if a transfer were to take place this summer, it would currently require a forward to depart Anfield.
Liverpool, as we all know, has a staggering array of attacking alternatives at their disposal. Furthermore, should the Juventus star transfer to Merseyside this summer, the squad’s logistics would be significantly out of balance because Chiesa is a player who is more than qualified to start for Kloop.
Despite Klopp’s admiration, Liverpool should pass on Chiesa.
Chiesa is an outstanding forward who could start for most of Europe’s top teams, there is no doubt about that. The addition of the Juventus star would feel like too much of a good thing for the Reds, given Liverpool’s alternatives in the wide-attack position and the project Klopp is currently working on.
As is well known, Liverpool is actively recruiting players for central midfield and defence this summer. Even if Chiesa would be fantastic in Klopp’s system, the Reds’ internal issues right now outweigh bringing in the Italian superstar.
