Manchester City’s Bid for Speedy Full-Back Akin to Kyle Walker
According to reports, Manchester City has made Alejandro Balde, a defender for Barcelona, a signing offer.
Given that Kyle Walker has reportedly verbally agreed to join Bayern Munich, the Manchester club may be saying goodbye to one of their present full-backs during this transfer window.
It is now being asserted that the Citizens have already tried to sign a new full-back from one of the top clubs in Europe.
City makes Balde a proposal
The left-back simply wanted to stay at Barcelona, and it now appears probable that he will sign a new long-term contract with them, according to a recent report from the Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo. Despite City making a sizable financial offer to try to get Balde, the player didn’t take it into consideration.
After progressing through Barcelona’s development programme, the 19-year-old has made 51 senior appearances for the Spanish club, making one goal and providing seven assists in the process.
The Spaniard showed how successful he can be in and out of possession last season with 33 La Liga games, finishing with the third-highest number of carries into the penalty area (35) and the second-highest number of tackles won (30) in Xavi’s squad.
The teenager’s pace is another intriguing aspect of his game; his top speed is 20.95 mp/h.
Walker’s top speed of 21.13 mp/h is where the Barcelona kid trails the Englishman by only a hair.
Although it is understandable why the European champions could have been interested in Balde, it appears unlikely that they will complete a transfer for him this summer. This is because Fabrizio Romano has stated that the full-back will be signing a new contract at the Nou Camp soon.
