Luis Diaz is the newest star the Pro League is eyeing, and Liverpool is preparing for yet another Saudi Arabian offer.
With the French publication L’Equipe breaking the story last week that the Liverpool captain had received a contract offer from Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, Jordan Henderson is the most well-known Red to have been desired by the Middle Eastern league in recent weeks.
Then came Fabinho, who is purportedly sought after in a £40 million deal, but Diaz may now surpass that.
According to a recent report in Portugal, Al-Ahly has made Diaz a €50 million offer, which would allow the Reds to recover the money they paid for the Colombian.
Although Liverpool would probably demand nearly twice that amount, the offer offers a chance. Diaz missed a significant portion of the previous season due to injury, and now that Darwin Nunez is playing off of Cody Gakpo on the left, Jurgen Klopp might think Diaz is somewhat marketable.
Klopp would have an additional £100 million or more to spend on reorganizing his midfield and attack to his liking if Henderson and Fabinho were to leave along with Diaz.
Given that Dominik Szoboszlai can play anywhere along the frontline, for instance, his versatility raises a variety of issues. Instead of having a backup forward, Klopp could use this newfound cash to sign another star midfielder.
Despite the fact that Diaz is sought after by Al-Ahly, it is still doubtful that he will move unless a far better offer is received.
Diaz is assessed by Transfermarkt at €75 million.
