According to reports, Liverpool is prepared to make Aurelien Tchouameni a top transfer target this summer, but only if Real Madrid makes the midfielder available for transfer.
The French international continues to pique Jurgen Klopp’s interest, according to the Telegraph. Tchouameni may only go, though, if Los Blancos transfer lists the 23-year-old.
Last summer, Liverpool was rumored to be on the verge of signing Tchouameni when Madrid snuck into the negotiations and managed to lure the then-AS Monaco star to Spain, leaving the Reds empty-handed.
Liverpool, though, never lost interest in Tchouameni and might now make a move for the midfielder if Madrid decides to offload the Frenchman this summer, a scenario that seems quite plausible.
Recently, The Mirror stated that Madrid would ask £90 million for the teenager. However, given that Liverpool is currently profitable following the successful sales of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, a compromise might be reached.
In fact, Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe this summer is hardly a secret. And by transferring Tchouameni to Liverpool after signing Jude Bellingham, Carlo Ancelotti’s team may be able to secure the PSG superstar.
Madrid would benefit if Tchouameni was sold to Liverpool.
Given that Madrid is seeking ways to raise money for Mbappe, Liverpool is in the market for a midfielder. The answer? Sell Tchouameni to the Reds so that everyone who is involved benefits from the trade.
As is well known, Tchouameni was about to sign with the Reds last year when Madrid exercised their power to lure the French star to Spain. The midfielder might actually end up at Anfield after all, a year after the deal.
It may all depend on whether Madrid believes that offloading Tchouameni will enable them to sign Mbappe at last. But because the PSG star is so eager to go, Liverpool might strike gold by luring the midfielder to Merseyside this summer.
