Chelsea’s Winger Presses for Exit After Fulham Deal
Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has spent the last three weeks forced to train with the Under-21 team, is eager to leave Chelsea as soon as possible.
The 22-year-old and Fulham have reached a personal agreement, and he has given them the go-ahead to finalize the transfer this summer.
However, Chelsea has been attempting to raise the price and has welcomed Lazio to the race in order to increase competition. After giving Hudson-Odoi his Chelsea debut, Maurizio Sarri is encouraging Lazio’s interest in the player.
Lazio has not yet made direct contact with Hudson-Odoi as they consider a possible loan strategy that would entail a buy-back commitment.
The fact that Hudson-Odoi still has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and earns well over £120,000 per week complicates negotiations with potential buyers.
Despite Romelu Lukaku, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and Hakim Ziyech training alone at Cobham, he was initially eager to join Chelsea’s Under-21s to keep fit while discussions are ongoing.
But now that Marco Silva’s position as the club’s manager is assured, he wants to quickly resolve the situation with Fulham.
The price still stands as the final obstacle, with both Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest having already been priced out of the running.
As they get closer to completing the triple signing of Raul Jimenez, Mohammed Salisu, and Calvin Bassey for more than £30 million, Fulham is starting to make some serious moves in the transfer market.
