It has been claimed that Manchester United and West Ham have swapped medical information as they get ready to trade Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay to the Hammers. Given that the Red Devils have just recently returned from their US tour, both players are apparently finishing up “long-distance” medicals.
After a trying few months for head coach David Moyes, West Ham is now ready to finalize their first transfers of the summer. Express Sport claimed on Thursday that there had been tension at the London Stadium due to disagreements about how the team should go about conducting its transfer business.
After pursuing United’s Maguire and McTominay, Moyes may finally get his wish for Premier League experience. The two elite clubs are allegedly “beginning the process” of concluding the accords.
Both players have fallen out of favor at United, with Maguire losing his status as team captain and being demoted to the position of center-back. Mason Mount has been a recent addition to Old Trafford’s burgeoning group of midfield reinforcements, which includes Scotland international McTominay.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Maguire and McTominay are completing long-distance medicals as they look to seal a departure from United. It is claimed that United and West Ham have exchanged medical records to help speed up the deals over the last 24 hours.

West Ham’s initial summer offer for Maguire was turned down, but it is now claimed that the two clubs have reached a “compromise” on a transfer fee. The 30-year-old defender is valued at roughly £30 million by the Red Devils, meaning they will lose at least £50 million on the England player.
Declan Rice joined Arsenal after a protracted transfer saga, so McTominay is a perfect replacement. Even though they received £105 million for their former captain Rice, West Ham is the only Premier League team without a signing this summer.
This summer, there have reportedly been disagreements between Moyes and West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten regarding the transfer process. With the addition of reinforcements required to build on last season’s Conference League-winning campaign, the head coach hopes to expedite the procedure.
When West Ham was said to have missed out on signing Carlos Borges, fans were irate. The former Manchester City starlet moved to the Eredivisie team instead after an eleventh-hour offer from Ajax.
To obtain money to continue their significant summer spending spree, United is eager to transfer Maguire and McTominay. Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and soon-to-be new striker Rasmus Hojlund have all moved thanks to the roughly £200 million backing given to Erik ten Hag.
Another midfielder is still on United’s want list. Old Trafford and Sofyan Amrabat have been closely associated. The 20-time English league winners most likely won’t be able to conduct any further business until they raise money.
