One analyst thinks that Mauricio Pochettino needs to give a struggling Chelsea player some starts straight away.
Since taking over, Pochettino has used a lineup and formation that he appears to trust and is working to refine. But both Chelsea supporters and commentators have criticized the starting lineup.
The former Spurs and PSG manager is adopting a 4-2-3-1 configuration, but he is deploying Ben Chilwell as a left winger and Levi Colwill, a natural center back, as a left back.
Many think that he is acting this way because of wounds. Mykhailo Mudryk, a real left winger, is one player who is healthy and would dearly love to be starting right now.
I genuinely think I concur with pundit Danny Murphy that it is time to give the struggling Chelsea player a run of starts at this point.
“Mudryk looks like they spent a lot of money on him… You could see what he was capable of in his debut match at Anfield, Murphy told FIVE’s YouTube channel.
When you have a new player, the worst thing you can do is delay or enlarge his opportunity. You must offer new players a chance to play.
“Now that Chilly (Chilwell) is playing there since he is a left-back, they need a left-winger to replace him.
Give him a few games—five or six! See.”
