Among the Premier League’s top five fastest players this season are Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho.
With speeds of almost 35 km/h, the dynamic duo finished fourth Rasmus Højlund) and fifth (Garnacho), respectively.
This means that if the two young people ran through Manchester school zones at top speed, they might receive speeding citations.
Last season, Manchester United’s team occasionally lacked quickness and athleticism.
One of the few sources of pace in an otherwise sluggish attacking unit was Marcus Rashford. The other defenses felt more at ease playing against United without the talismanic number 10.
A front four consisting of Wout Weghorst, Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, and Antony will have trouble moving past first gear, let alone reaching sixth.
This is why this season will be so different thanks to the dynamic duo of pace and power Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund have already shown.
Rasmus Højlund in particular will show to be revolutionary at center-forward. An area of the team that has been lacking in athleticism for far too long.
The team will benefit from the space the Danish player should by virtue of his simple existence generate for Rashford and Fernandes.
Rashford’s continued use of his favored left-wing position, where he is far more effective and diligent, is also made possible by his participation.
Then, Ten Hag can use Garnacho in his best capacity as a quick super sub. In the final fifteen minutes of a game, a dangerous winger who can run at above 35 km/h is a full-back’s worst nightmare.
This season, Garnacho ought to appear in many defenders’ Sunday night dreams.
Ten Hag will be excited by the possibility of using not one, but two road runners this season.
