Salah’s attorney and adviser, Ramy Abbas Issa, recently revealed the extent of Salah’s weekly income, which is at least £1 million.
According to The Guardian, Abbas recently disclosed to a Harvard Business School (HBS) research that the 31-year-old’s most recent contract was still up for negotiation as of June 2022.
According to the advisor, Liverpool’s contract negotiations “broke down completely” by the summer.
As a result, there was a flood of fan speculation, and rumours that the star was losing interest in the club spread quickly.
However, just a few weeks after the negotiations came to a standstill, it appears that progress was achieved, and the winger agreed to a three-year contract.
When it comes to the discussions, Abbas said: “You have to start thinking about parting ways when you have put your requests on the table and you don’t get anything you’ve asked for.”
The Egyptian is reported to have said as the negotiations continued: “I have been happy about the conversations from the beginning but now that Ramy told me they have not agreed to anything we requested, I see things differently.
“I think the club wants me to stay, and I want to stay, but it’s difficult to reach an agreement,” he said.
It covers the negotiations in depth and talks about Liverpool’s acceptance of Abbas’s ‘last’, game-changing offer.
Salah was reportedly vacationing in El Gouna at the time, while Abbas was in Dubai.
We are still extremely far apart when it comes to the counter-offer, said Abbas, who along with his client consented to be quoted as if they were speaking in the present.
“Mohamed isn’t going to cancel his contract because there is a 5% difference between what we are asking for and what they are willing to give; there are far more factors at play here.”
“We conservatively expect the total amount received by Mohamed and the image rights companies over the next few years from both his playing contract and his image rights contracts to be somewhere between €54m (£46.8m) and €62m (£53.7m) per year,” he continued. “If we find a way to get Liverpool to agree to the salary we have in mind and if Mohamed performs at a level he has achieved in the past seasons.”
The 31-year-old said in a statement before to the contract extension: “Renewing at Liverpool would be one of the biggest achievements of my career.
But we have to go about it correctly. In order to succeed, I’ve learnt during my career, you need to invest in both your physical and emotional well-being.
“That holds true both on and off the pitch. You need to keep your emotions in check and be prepared for pressure.
Despite the lack of specifics, it is likely that Liverpool complied with Abbas’ demands.
Although the investigation did not reach a conclusion regarding Salah’s pay, The Guardian reports that sources suggest he makes more money via endorsement deals with other parties.
He currently has business relationships with Gucci, PepsiCo, and sportswear company Adidas.
