As rumors swirl over Jose Mourinho’s prospective second comeback, the Portuguese manager has already made clear his strong love for Chelsea.
The current Roma head coach spent two incredibly successful seasons working at Stamford Bridge. His first tenure saw him win the FA Cup, two League Cups, and two Premier League championships.
Upon his comeback in 2013 and subsequent League Cup victory, Mourinho added to his collection. He also won yet another league championship. Even though each of the Portuguese’s stints in West London ended in dismissal, they haven’t been deterred from returning.
The Blues are said to be Mourinho’s target team as he is interested in returning to England at some time in his career. It is said that his representatives have stated that he would be eager to assume the helm once more, even though it appears doubtful that a position will open up very soon.
Graham Potter signed a five-year contract with Chelsea after replacing Thomas Tuchel, and the team is prepared to stand by the former Brighton player despite the pressure that has been placed on him since he arrived at Stamford Bridge. His sentiments on the team have come to light again amid the rumors of a potential Mourinho comeback, demonstrating his deep love for it.
He mentioned Chelsea as his club in prior remarks to Sky Sports. “Whether you ask me if I have someone who I would want to take over from my Chelsea,’ let’s pretend that I do, but I close my mouth,” Mourinho stated.
Throughout his two stints with Chelsea, Jose Mourinho saw great success.
Chelsea will always be Chelsea because the club has advanced to such a level that it doesn’t matter who it plays for. I want to continue listening to the music of victory and happiness because Chelsea will always be a large city and my home will always be 200 meters from the stadium. I have a good feeling about how it will turn out.
The 60-year-old has also stated that, despite stints with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham, he considers his time with Chelsea to be the best of his career in England. Of course, Chelsea is my tie to England, he remarked.
“That’s how I see things, as a Chelsea man after two Chelsea periods and six years,” the speaker said. It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will return to Chelsea in any capacity sometime soon. He remains with Italian powerhouse Roma for the time being at least after guiding the team to the Europa Conference League championship the previous season.
He was hired as head coach before the 2021/22 season after a dismal stint with Tottenham, and he is currently bound to the Stadio Olimpico until the summer of 2024.
