On social media, Gabriel Martinelli paid tribute to a young Gunner after scoring the game-winning goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.
At the King Power Stadium, the Brazilian scored his ninth goal of the campaign in the first minute of the second half to give the Gunners another significant victory. Since losing his spot in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup recently, Martinelli has now scored in each of the two games prior. This is a fantastic response.
After the game, Arteta said, “That was incredibly significant for him. “To come back with even more vigor and enthusiasm, you occasionally need to give someone a break. He made a contribution today by scoring an amazing goal that gave us the victory.”
Martinelli scored two crucial goals against Aston Villa and Leicester, his first two since scoring twice back-to-back goals in December against West Ham and Brighton. The 21-year-jubilation old’s after the game’s conclusion perfectly encapsulated the significance of the victory for the Midlands, but he also gave credit to a young fan named Steven for his goal.
Miss Melina, a YouTube YouTuber, shared a photo of herself and Steven on Thursday along with the tweet: “Steven is a huge admirer of both Gabriel Martinelli and Arsenal. Although it could be a long shot, I sincerely hope Gabi would see this tweet and maybe give his good wishes to my friend Steven.”
Martinelli also saw Melina’s tweet and responded to the young supporter with a heartfelt note. He tweeted two pictures of the victory over Leicester and the following: “Three significant points away from home. Steven, that was for you.”
