After his England teammate persuaded him to join Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund player Jude Bellingham wrote a playful message to Jack Grealish.
For the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Italy and Ukraine, Bellingham and Grealish were both selected for Gareth Southgate’s England team.
England won their first Euro 2024 qualifying match against Italy last week, 2-1, before defeating Ukraine, 2-0.
After victories over Italy and Ukraine, Southgate’s team is in the first spot in Group C, three points ahead of Italy in the second. Grealish and Bellingham both had a part in both victories.
An amusing attempt by Grealish to get Bellingham to the Etihad earlier this month was caught on camera by fans. Bellingham has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Grealish tweeted to his England teammate in response to Bellingham’s Instagram comment: “Come to City xx.”
Before returning to City on Monday, Grealish celebrated England’s victories in their back-to-back Euro 2024 qualifiers on Instagram on Sunday.
“Wonderful trip with the boys for a week. What a bunch of lads, he thought.
Grealish’s strategy was quickly copied by Bellingham, who immediately sent him a message in the comments.

Come to Dortmund x, the 19-year-old England midfielder said.
ESPN reports that despite intense competition from Real Madrid, City is “becoming optimistic” that they can pull off a sensational acquisition for Beckham this summer.
Bellingham has a contract with the German club through 2025, therefore Dortmund is likely to be aggressive in any negotiations involving him.
After losing their former star striker Erling Haaland to City last summer, it’s thought that Dortmund is holding out for a hefty £133 million fee for Bellingham.
