Pep Guardiola became the fastest manager to 100 home victories as Manchester City destroyed Liverpool 4-1 on Saturday lunchtime.
The previous record holder, Arsene Wenger, who accomplished the same feat with Arsenal in 139 games, was surpassed by Guardiola in his 128th league game in charge at the Etihad Stadium.
While City came back behind to keep the pressure on Arsenal in the title race, Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, and Jack Grealish all scored goals.
City has scored 360 goals overall in those 128 games, averaging 2.88 goals per game, while giving up just 102 goals, or 0.79 goals per game, on average.
Only twice in all competitions this season have the defending Premier League champions failed to win at home—they lost to Brentford and drew with Everton, respectively—and both of those games occurred before the World Cup.
Guardiola and company will next face Bayern Munich in the opening leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup. City will be aiming to make it 10 straight home wins in league and cup matches.
