James Milner is on the verge of joining Brighton.
According to Sky Sports News, the midfielder will soon agree to terms to join the Seagulls at the end of the current campaign.
This summer, when Milner’s contract with Liverpool expires, it appears that the eight-year veteran has made the decision to leave Anfield.
The ‘unbelievable’ midfielder has served Liverpool admirably, but he is now planning to go to the south coast.
Brighton will host Milner
This update was given on Sky Sports by Bela Shah.
James Milner and Brighton are very close to agreeing on a deal to sign him, according to more transfer news I can share with you. He has a contract that expires at Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, Milner has heard excellent things about Roberto De Zerbi, and he might be headed to Brighton, according to Shah.
Breaking of the record
It makes sense that Milner, even at the age of 37, would want to join a team where he will see more action. After all, he is now very close to breaking the Premier League appearance record.
In fact, Milner just needs 49 more games to surpass Gareth Barry’s long-standing record in this competition, and, to be completely honest, he wasn’t likely to get that many opportunities at Liverpool moving forward.
He may easily be a major player for Roberto De Zerbi’s club over the next two seasons and surpass Barry’s record for Premier League appearances because Brighton is a young team with less ambition than Liverpool.
Even though Milner’s career is coming to a close, a team like Brighton could still benefit greatly from his skills.
