Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is optimistic that Marcus Rashford will be able to recuperate in time for the FA Cup final matchup with Manchester City and the remaining Premier League games.
With 29 goals and 11 assists from 53 appearances across all competitions, the England international has having an outstanding season. But he is now watching from the sidelines.
Prior to the Wolverhampton Wanderers match, Rashford had a leg injury. He was not a member of the matchday roster. Ten Hag is optimistic about making a comeback, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils still have three league games left in the season, and they may qualify for the Champions League for the following season with a maximum of two victories.
Thereafter, they take on arch-rivals City in a much-awaited FA Cup final on June 3.
Rashford is no longer Man United’s exclusive source of goals.
After the World Cup, Rashford was in outstanding form for the Red Devils. Following the world cup, the England star scored 16 goals in his first 17 games.
The forward has only scored five goals in his subsequent 17 games. Recently, his teammates have stepped up and helped him score goals, but Ten Hag wants more.
United has struggled throughout the entire campaign. After the Wolves game, Ten Hag expressed his concern, saying that they needed to be more effective with their opportunities.
Rashford hasn’t been at his best the past two months, but his return would be a great help to the team as they strive to finish in the top four and win another FA Cup.
