Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, cursed out loud on Sky Sports, and now Manchester United supporters are demanding that he be disqualified from next month’s FA Cup final. While telling Jack Grealish how much he loves him, the Norway international used the f-bomb. Additionally, the FA seems to have created this problem given that Wayne Rooney was previously suspended for swearing into a camera.
While Grealish’s teammate was discussing something on Sky Sports, Haaland approached him and shouted, “I f****** love you.”
However, supporters on Twitter are calling for the forward to be suspended, with many citing Rooney’s 2011 suspension as an example.
After a thrilling 4-2 victory over West Ham, the England star was disqualified from the FA Cup for swearing into a camera.
As a result, he was unable to attend City’s FA Cup semifinal match; as a result, the Red Devils fell to City 1-0. Yaya Toure scored the game’s only goal.
@truereddevil99 said, “Haaland swears on live television for no good reason, but the Fa won’t do anything about it.” “Rooney swore back in 2011 following an important goal in the race for the championship, and was suspended from the fa cup semifinal against City. Here, Haaland ought to be suspended for three games. @FootballAssoc.”
“I remember Rooney missing an FA Cup semifinal by doing the same thing,” said @P4ul785.
Shouldn’t differ in any way. The only appropriate course of action in this situation is a ban, but the FA s***houses will do nothing.
“So they’ll suspend Haaland for the same amount of time as they suspended Rooney for two games after he said f****** what? After beating West Ham, scoring, to the camera. I didn’t think so,” retorted @PhilHowarth.
According to @JackMcCarthy_7, “If the same rules apply, then surely Haaland should be banned for the FA cup final.” Wayne Rooney received a three-match suspension in 2011 for cursing on live television. As a result, Rooney missed the FA Cup semi-final match versus City, which we lost 1-0.
@TylerMUFC99 said, “Haaland swearing on the tele, ban him from the cup final immediately.”
According to @Ky4ster, “Double standards it’s ok when haaland does it but when rooney the goat of all goats does it he gets a 2 game ban and misses a semi final.”
The FA now doesn’t appear to be planning any action against Haaland.
And it’s unclear whether they will change their position as long as fans express their opinions.
Regarding Rooney, the United great acknowledged regret for his behaviour in 2011 and accepted his sentence.
He admitted at the time, “I didn’t know what I’d done.
“It was only feelings. The three goals that put us back in the game were a relief.
“I apologised as soon as I could after the game when I saw what had happened.
Obviously, what I did was wrong, but I accept responsibility for it, and now it’s time to move on. On Saturday, I’m hoping the guys can come through for me and help me reach the FA Cup final.
Even the idea that Rooney and Coca-Cola parted ways over his profanity was floated. In response, he said, “It makes me giggle.
“I spoke with Coke about signing a new contract near the conclusion of the last campaign, and with the Olympics approaching, they wanted a little more of my time to do additional commercial appearances. Simply put, I lacked the time to complete it.
“This all occurred at the conclusion of the previous season, so I haven’t worked for Coca-Cola since 2010, but it has just been made public.
“When people claim that I have been dropped by them, it makes me laugh.”
This season, City and United have already faced off twice.
The Red Devils avenged themselves at Old Trafford by winning 2-1 in front of their own fans, but Pep Guardiola’s team prevailed 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.
