Declan Rice, the West Ham United captain who has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal, has arrived at St George’s Park for England duty.
The 24-year-old is the north London club’s top target for the summer transfer window, according to football.london, as Mikel Arteta aims to expand his options in the centre of the park as the Spaniard tries to catch Premier League champions Manchester City. Football.london is aware that the Gunners are confident in their offer for Rice, but they also believe that in the end, the player will have to make that decision given the interest shown by a number of other elite European teams, such as Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
The team of Arteta is anxious to avoid a bidding battle and has already shown that they are prepared to back out of agreements for their top targets, including Mykhailo Mudryk and Lisandro Martinez, who joined United and Chelsea, respectively. Currently, images of Rice coming to the practice facility before of matches against Malta and North Macedonia have been released on England’s official Twitter page.
“Look who just showed up at SGP! With images of Rice hugging Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka from Arsenal, their post read, “(Star eyes emoji) (Hands raised emoji) @_DeclanRice,” which of course set off a transfer frenzy among Gunners fans.
