Manchester United to hold fresh talks with Napoli defender Kim Min-jae
Kim Min-jae, a defender for Napoli, is expected to participate in further discussions with Manchester United regarding a potential transfer during the forthcoming transfer window.
In the upcoming months, the Red Devils are rumored to be interested in hiring the South Korean international. This summer, Old Trafford manager Erik ten Hag is eager to get the 26-year-old into his squad.
Italian writer Rudy Galetti stated to GiveMeSport (via MEN) that United will meet Min-jae to discuss personal terms with the center-back soon.
“There is a new round of meetings scheduled already in the coming days in which Manchester United will try and finalize and reach a full agreement on personal terms.”
The South Korean was acquired by Napoli in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce. The defender made quite an impression in his first season in Italy thanks to some standout performances.
The team led by Luciano Spalletti won the Scudetto with ease the previous season. The 26-year-old was a key component of the Partenopei’s backline.
In Serie A, Napoli easily outperformed the opposition. For the Naples-based club, Min-jae made 45 appearances in all competitions, contributing two assists and two goals.
Last year, United’s defensive was strong. In the Premier League, we recorded 17 clean sheets. Ten Hag’s favored backline pairing in the backline was Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. The two World Cup champions of the Manchester-based club make an outstanding team.
In the last few weeks of the season, Victor Lindelof ably filled in for the injured Argentine defender. Luke Shaw was also used well in the center on a few occasions. In the 2022–23 season, Harry Maguire was also at the gaffer’s disposal.
