The apparent approval of Sheikh Jassim’s firm in the UK is a step closer to a successful takeover bid for Manchester United.
After a protracted legal dispute involving a Qatari financier and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Premier League giants have yet to announce the identity of their new major owner.
Although rumors in his native Qatar stated Sheikh Jassim had already won the contest on Monday, the Glazers were predicted to ultimately decide on a preferred bidder this week.
The news source that was given credit for breaking the story afterwards apologized for their initial remarks, putting an end to those claims.
However, the government body Companies House revealed on Thursday that a foundation called “Nine Two Holdings Limited” had been formally incorporated in the UK.
On June 15, the firm was ‘incorporated’ in the UK, with Sheikh Jassim and Abdulrahman Al-Ansari identified as its two directors. The corporation also has Norwich Street in London listed as its address.
The documentation was submitted to Companies House months ago, before the most recent takeover proposals, despite the fact that the developments are a step in the right direction for the Qataris. However, the paper shows that bidders are prepared in case they are chosen, or whenever that may be.
Last Monday, Sheikh Jassim submitted an enhanced offer for what would be a full acquisition of United, ending the Glazer family’s control of the company.
Rio Ferdinand, a former United captain, recently made the suggestion that Qatar’s bid had been successful, and a confirmation is soon to arrive.
On his Five channel on Youtube., Ferdinand said. “According to what we have heard, the Qatari proposal is the one that has been approved, is about to occur, and will be implemented. Thank God, guy. I am impatient. Please allow this to occur.
“Take a look at how long this has continued. The Glazers have firmly planted their feet. It will go to the highest bidder, which is customary in discussions, but I want to settle this before the transfer window opens since things are already moving quickly.
“I have gone to bed praying that an offer will be approved every single day. It is reportedly getting near. In a few days, it will occur. If not, it won’t be long. If not, we won’t be able to estimate how much money we need to spend, and United would have to play catch-up. So fingers crossed that the information I have is accurate because I got it from a reliable source.
