According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek ‘wants to play football’ and is aware of the stiff competition he faces at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international has had a terrible time at Old Trafford.
Donny van de Beek news from Manchester United
Van de Beek joined the Red Devils from Dutch club Ajax in 2020 for a reported £35 million cost, according to the BBC.
Van de Beek has played 60 times for the Manchester club since his transfer to Old Trafford, according to Transfermarkt, scoring twice and dishing out two assists.
Van de Beek has only played for United for 742 minutes in the Premier League throughout this time.
It’s safe to assume that the transfer has been a failure thus far, and he might already be leaving.
Van de Beek is currently prepared to quit Old Trafford and seek out a new challenge, according to journalist Dean Jones, who recently spoke with GIVEMESPORT.
Given his inactivity, few United supporters will be inclined to hold him accountable.
Back in April, Football Insider reported that Ajax was mulling a move for their ex-player in an effort to bring him back to Holland, with United reportedly demanding £25 million.
Fabrizio Romano’s comments regarding van de Beek?
Van de Beek wants to be playing football, but isn’t right now, according to Romano.
The Italian journalist has made a suggestion that he might wish to quit the group.
“Donny van de Beek is almost ready to play again because he will be ready in the preseason, and he wants to play football,” he said in a statement to GIVEMESPORT. He is aware that Manchester United has a large number of midfielders and that at least one more will likely be added this summer.
What is van de Beek’s future plan?
Van de Beek should probably look for a new challenge, possibly outside of England.
During his time in the Premier game, the 26-year-old spent some time on loan at Everton, which appeared like a great opportunity for him to get regular minutes and get used to the game.
The midfielder, according to FBref, only made five starts but played 483 minutes in total.
For van de Beek, who obviously isn’t cut out for the Premier League, going back to his own country seems like the smartest course of action.
It makes sense for the Dutchman to go back to his old team because he thrived there.
