According to Torcedores (via Manchester Evening News), FC Porto and SL Benfica are both interested in signing Manchester United player Alex Telles during the current transfer window.
In the competition to hire the Brazil international this summer, the Eagles have joined the Estadio do Dragao team. It is unknown if the left-back will choose to return to Portugal.
Benfica wants the 30-year-old on loan for the time being. When the defender’s current deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2024, they intend to sign him on a permanent basis.
The Old Trafford team, though, has no intention of allowing Telles to depart temporarily. In 2020, the club will try to recoup some of the money it paid to acquire the defender from Porto.
Before United came calling, the Brazilian prospered at Dragoes. Sadly, the full-back hasn’t been able to leave a significant enough impression at the Manchester-based team.
He spent time on loan at Sevilla during the previous campaign, where he started in the La Liga team’s victory in the Europa League final. However, the 30-year-old has primarily been a supporting cast member for the Old Trafford team over the years.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are now among the Red Devils’ ranks for the left side of the defence. Erik ten Hag’s favoured choice during the previous season was the England international.
The former Feyenoord player, though, also received several opportunities. The 23-year-old needs to grow a lot more, though.
Even so, it appears that we will have ample coverage for the upcoming season in our left-back area. As a result, Telles appears to be unnecessary. Also not growing any younger is the Brazilian. United will hopefully be able to sell him this summer.
