PSG are readying an €80m bid for a striker that will remove yet another option from Erik ten Hag’s shortlist
In order to make up for Cristiano Ronaldo’s midseason departure, the Red Devils resorted to the inexpensive and cheery Wout Weghorst.
Weghorst was brought in on loan from Burnley when his time with Besiktas of Turkey was cut short. The Dutchman did gain Ten Hag’s faith, but his goal total of two in 31 games made it evident he wasn’t the solution.
Since Weghorst’s loan period was through, he has returned to Burnley, and United has looked into recruiting a variety of center-forwards.
Ten Hag is believed to favor Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen as candidates. However, both will be extremely expensive to sign, and neither Spurs nor Napoli have much interest in offloading either player.
As a result, Man Utd is investigating back-up options like Randal Kolo Muani, Rasmus Hojlund, and Mohammed Kudus.
However, according to BILD, PSG are poised to become an issue for Eintracht Frankfurt star Kolo Muani while Brighton are chasing a club-record deal for Kudus.
The 24-year-old France international is a target for Man Utd, according to the German tabloid. They later revealed that PSG, a major French club, is ready to make a bid of €80 million.
In light of rising worries that Kylian Mbappe won’t stay in Paris for the long term, PSG wants to sign their own devastating striker. Lionel Messi already gone to take on a new challenge with Inter Miami in the United States. Therefore, a once-star-studded frontline may soon lose its glitter, especially with Neymar becoming older.
PSG are looking to Kolo Muani to make things right before it’s too late. According to BILD, PSG have informed the player of their future plans, including their decision to hire Luis Enrique as manager before the news reached the general public.
Last season, Kolo Muani played his first season in Germany with Frankfurt, scoring 23 goals and dishing out 17 assists. There is no release clause in his agreement, which runs until 2027.
Frankfurt will try to hold out for €100m before parting ways, according to BILD. Even if Man Utd did want to compete with PSG, the Red Devils may be priced out of the race given that ESPN and the Metro both claimed that Man Utd is operating on a constrained transfer budget this summer.
The research comes to the conclusion that Kolo Muani staying in Germany for another season is also a highly plausible option given Frankfurt’s strong negotiating position.
The end conclusion will be the same whether it takes place in Frankfurt till 2024 or Paris: Kolo Muani won’t end up in Manchester.
As a result, a Man Utd move for Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta may soon take even greater significance.
