According to Miguel Delaney of The Independent, Argentine forward Paulo Dybala has surfaced as a “possible alternative” for Mauricio Pochettino as he looks to strengthen the front line for Chelsea.
Additionally, Football.London According to reports from London, Chelsea has received a cash infusion of over £188.9 million from the sale of players during this transfer window.
World Cup victor Paulo Dybala is a target for Chelsea
Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea, is looking to bolster his attacking lineup with some seasoned players, and the club is considering Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus and Dybala of Roma.
According to a story from The Independent, Pochettino has spoken with the West London club’s leadership, who are’sympathetic’ to his demand for players with more attack-related expertise despite having a hiring process that prioritises bringing in young players.
Romelu Lukaku’s future will be decided this week, and Chelsea’s choice between Dybala and Vlahovic may be influenced by the striker’s final destination.
During his tenure at Tottenham, Pochettino came very close to signing Dybala, but the deal fell through in the closing stages for a number of reasons, including the player’s inability to leave Juventus.
Dybala may be available for under £10.6 million thanks to a clause in his contract that permits non-Italian clubs to acquire the World Cup winner at a discount. Dybala is currently at Roma, managed by former Spurs and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
However, there have been negotiations between the two clubs about signing Lukaku, and according to a source in the Independent, it could ‘smooth any possible talks’ for Vlahovic.
Danny Murphy has expressed his disapproval of Chelsea’s emphasis on acquisitions. According to Financial Fair Play, Chelsea may choose to give other positions priority.
Pochettino is certain that Chelsea’s team will get better.
In his first news conference as Chelsea’s new manager, Pochettino made it clear that the team will be strengthened in terms of quality during the transfer window and that any new players would need to be familiar with what it means to represent Chelsea.
“We need to bring in players who feel that winning, being competitive, and doing our best are the most important things,” he stated. We are already working incredibly hard, so we need to spread this enthusiasm to our audience in order to foster a sense of community.
In addition to enhancing Chelsea’s offence and complementing recent additions Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, who both signed earlier in the summer window, Dybala or Vlahovic would unquestionably fit that pattern.
