A jury at Chester Crown Court ruled the former Manchester City star, who was recently released by the Citizens, not guilty of the allegations.
In his initial trial at the beginning of the year, the 28-year-old was found not guilty of six charges of rape and one count of sexual assault.
On one count of attempted rape and one count of rape, the jury at the time was unable to reach a verdict.
However, after around three hours of deliberation at his retrial, they have since exonerated him.
In October 2020, Mendy was charged with raping a 24-year-old woman in his £4 million Cheshire property.
Additionally, he was charged with trying to rape a separate woman at his place two years previously.
After a three-week trial, however, the jury foreman read the not guilty findings, and Mendy immediately started crying.
Head of serious and general crime at Hickman & Rose, Jenny Wiltshire, spoke on behalf of her client, Mendy, who is now attempting to “rebuild his life.”
“Benjamin Mendy would like to thank the members of the jury for focusing on the evidence in this trial, rather than the rumour and innuendo that have surrounded this case from the beginning,” she added.
“Mr. Mendy has been tried twice and found not guilty both times by a jury.
“He is pleased that the verdicts rendered by both juries were accurate.
“The police have been looking into this incident for approximately three years.
“Mr. Mendy has made an effort to maintain his composure, but the process has unavoidably had a negative effect on him.
“He requests for privacy so he may start rebuilding his life. He thanks everyone who has supported him throughout this tragedy.”
If proven guilty on the charges, Mendy could have received a life sentence.
However, the 2018 World Cup champion, who admitted to the jury that he had slept with more than 10,000 women, is now free to get on with his life.
